Basswood Laser Plywood is suitable for a wide range of applications including Cricut and Laser machines.

Available in a variety of thicknesses and sheet sizes, multi-ply composition ensures excellent strength and durability.

Please note - 1.0mm is 2 ply and will curl in either direction. Not suitable for laser cutting or use in Cricuit machines.

Laser friendly - or sometimes referred to as Laser ply, this range is interior grade and laser marking and cutting friendly.

Grade available Ab/Ab unless otherwise noted. (depending on material thickness)

QUALITY SPECIFICATIONS FOR BASSWOOD PLYWOOD

Ab/Ab - Both side veneers have only a few small knots or discolourations.
The reverse side may have jointed veneers.

Basswood Plywood is both light and strong while being economical

Disappointing

Have bought specifically for Cricut project, but the knife blade broke while cutting

We are very sorry you are not happy with your order.
The Basswood ply is available in a range of thicknesses and is not made specifically for use in a Cricut machine. However, if asked we would normally recommend the 1.5mm thick Basswood ply when using the Maker models.

The Basswood and Birch ply are excellent quality. This is the first time I have ordered the Celery Top Pine and I am impressed, straight grained and smoothly cut, ideal for wing spars.
Balsa wood is perfect for building.

Review recent order

This is my third major order (over$150) this year. They have all been well packed and delivered promptly. They have all been of a good even quality.. I haven't checked the price increases but it feels as if balsa is getting dearer with each order. I have checked three retailers but none of them can match Balsa Central for quality or price.
The important element in my purchases is the confidence that I will get good quality.

Thickness?

Delivery was timely.
Product cuts well.
My one concern was the variation in thicknesses across the group of pieces and around each piece. I hasten to add that I am fully aware that timber swells and contracts with changes in local humidity, beyond anyone's control. This can cause fitment issues when making tab-and-slot models. I will take this as a lesson in my own planning of drawings.

Excellent material for pyrography

I find the Basswood ply the best material i have used to date for pyrography (wood burning) great consistency of grain and smoothness

Great easy to cut by hand and strong

I found this material far better to cut by hand using a hobby knife than Balsa wood and it is stronger.
